| Yamaha YZ634For the 1972 season Yamaha introduced a brand new 350 production racer the TR3. (prototype was already used by Rod Gould in 1971)It was an aircooled 350 twin based on the new RD350 street bike, with bore and stroke at 64×54. Yamaha Motor NV established a “Factory Team” for the 125-250-350 classes. For the 350cc Yamaha Japan had developed a water-cooled version of the TR3. Two machines were send over one for Jarno Saarinen ( Arwidson Yamaha) and one for Hideo Kanaya. Jarno gave MV Agusta a real run for their money . It is a pity that Jarno did not win the 1972 Worldchampionship on the YZ634. The YZ634 had watercooling, complete magnesium drum brakes, aluminum rear shocks, an aluminum rear brakepedal, nylon chokelever, magnesium waterpump, aluminum steering damper, and the riders had different gearbox ratios to choose from. The YCRT YZ634 replica is built with several factory parts, other parts were made in accordance to the factory specifications. |
