For about six years is working with great skill on the YCRT racers, taking with him the experience of years of working on expensive executive cars. Because Andre is completely fluent in Dutch, you almost forget that despite that he is of true Italian blood and Andre is a native speaker in Italian which comes in handy many times when the Team is in Italy!1. What is your background in racing?I have build rally and racing cars and serviced them during events. I have also competed for a short time in rally and sprint events, but preferred to work for almost ten years for several different Teams and tuners next to my daytime job as a car technician.

2. How and when did you got involved with the YCRT?

When my wife worked for Arai Europe, I met Ferry Brouwer. He showed me what he did with the classic racing Yamaha’s and asked me if I would be interested to help preparing the biked. That was back in 2004 when I joined the YCRT and I have never looked back since.

3. What is your function within the YCRT?

I work on practically all YCRT bikes.

4. What is the best part of being an YCRT member? And the worst is?

What attracts me most is that we are keeping and important part of the Yamaha racing history alive and offer so much pleasure with it to so many people. The worst, eh… Can’t think of anything!

5. How much time do you spent with the Team?

We work every Wednesday evening on the bikes. Not only regular service, but also repairing, restoring en building exact replicas. When needed, we work on other days and evenings as well, for instance to load the race trucks just ahead of an event.

6. How is the spirit within the Team?

Just great! We are a strong band of friends, working with much passion and pleasure and always aiming at pure perfection, right to the smallest detail.

7. What is your favorite YCRT bike, your favorite classic event and your favorite rider?

The OW31, but in fact they are all really beautiful. Favorite events are Spa in Belgium and Schotten in Germany. My favorite rider? Valentino Rossi of course! And then all YCRT riders. It’s just fantastic to watch those ”oldies” racing and believe me, they are certainly no sluggards on the track!

8.What makes you proud of the YCRT during an event?

The pure enthusiasm of the public and the emotions they and you experience. Just beautiful isn’t it?

9. Do you have a special bond with Yamaha as a racing brand?

I have a Yamaha XJR1300 street bike that offers me tremendous fun. Great bike. I have always had a strong preference for Yamaha, but don’t ask me why! And I always had a keen interest for the Yamaha’s at the races.

10. What’s your opinion about the future of classic parading?

I think that classic parading is becoming more and more popular. More classic events are popping up and their attendance is growing as well. I sincerely hope that the younger generation of GP riders will follow this tradition.
